What is Verified Trading?

It is a process where Point Investment selects buy/sell offers and verifies that the offer is authentic. To be verified, the offer must be issued by a registered company and it must be current.

How does Document Verification work?

  1. Point Investment receives Sell / Buy offers from its commodity partners then contacts the company to verify the offer to ensure it was issued by the stated company and that the details of the offer are correct and current.
  2. Point Investment will gain the company’s permission to use the offer as a verified offer and direct the company to register as seller / buyer or trader.
  3. After approval, the company can upload their documented offer on their document management module on the Point Investment website. These documents cannot be deleted and all changes made to the document are noted and the original document is always available.
  4. Point Investment will take a copy of the document and remove all the information disclosing the company identity ONLY. Point Investment will then issue the offers on a Point Investment letterhead with a declaration that the document is genuine.
  5. Point Investment will issue a tracing number on the document and then the offer will be published. This document can be verified online at any time by searching on the Point Investment website. You can view the online document and compare the contents.
  6. A message will indicate if the offer was closed or removed from the market.

Point Investment will be continually working under the guidance of the offer issuer and will try to bring the offer to a close at the earliest possible time. In many cases Point Investment will issue contracts under the same secure system and only when all terms are agreed by the seller and buyer and they are ready to sign the contract will the name of the buyer/seller be disclosed.

What is a Verified offer?

These offers come from trusted sources and partners of Point Investment. Offers marked as a "Verified Offer" have original documentation such as Full Corporate Offer (FCO), Letter of Intent (LOI), or Irrevocable Corporate Purchase Order (ICPO). These original documents are held in trust by Point Investment and the sanitised versions are distributed to relevant parties.

Why use Document Verification?

Currently there are millions perhaps even billions of trade offers floating around the Internet. A number of these offers are authentic however the vast majority are expired or worse, ghost offers (offers that never existed). These false offers are misleading and can cause a great deal of frustration for the genuine buyer / seller and financial losses.

What are the Benefits of Document Verification?

  • Save time and money by avoiding working with non- existing, expired, or fraudulent offers.
  • Minimise risk of defacing your company’s reputation by insuring that the content of your offer will not be changed at some stage of circulation and will be offered to buyers or sellers with false or misleading information branded with your company name and logo and perhaps your contact details changed.

Who can use Document Verification?

Any legitimate supplier, buyer, Broker or Trader dealing with Agricultural, Mining, Metals and Petroleum commodities. More info on Verified Offers
